Quartet of Art Bearon Originals Comprise Piano Blues EP

The Piano Blues EP is a collection of original songs by Hap Snow’s Whirlwinds written (and co-written) by pianist Art Bearon. In addition to the title instrumental, the unreleased songs include “The Woolly Bear Stomp,” “Macabre” (an early version of Whirlwind favorite “Banshee”) and “Know What You’re Doin’ To Me (Oo-Ee Baby).”

All four tracks have Bearon on piano, Harry Lewis on saxophone, James K. Snow on lead guitar, and Stefano Torossi on drums. Three of the songs were recorded at a home studio in Weston, Massachusetts in 1958 and 1959, while “Know What You’re Doing To Me (Oo-Ee Baby),” a rehearsal, was cut live at Williams College in 1959.
